
The park is open every Wednesday through Sunday, 9 AM to 4 PM, from Memorial Day Weekend through Columbus Day. The buildings will close on that day for the season, but the park grounds remain open every day of the week throughout the year.
During the season, the Gift Shop is open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Noon until 4 PM.
| Friends Meeting - Guest speaker George P. Morrill, Wesleyan University graduate, WWII Merchant Marine Sailor, English Instructor at the Fort Trumbull campus of the University of Connecticut in the late 1940's and freelance writer of magazine articles and novels. His novel "Dark Sea Running," published by McGraw Hill Book Company in 1959, is about an encounter in 1945 in the Pacific Ocean between a U.S. merchant ship and a Japanese submarine. The sub's Captain and crew were unaware that Japan had surrendered and the war was over. Mr. Morrill sold the movie rights to a film company. The film has yet to be produced. Mr. Morrill's latest novel, "Touch a Lonely Star," published by Trafford Publishing in 2006, is about the Great Depression of the 1930's and World War II. | |
